Learning how to make your eyes ‘loosen up’
As simple as it may sound, simply teaching your eyes to relax can have a major impact on your vision. Eye strain very quickly results in a loss of synchrony between different eye movements required in good vision. The muscles in your eyes are different to those in other parts of your body. When your eye muscles become strained, you don’t usually notice it as a pain in or around your eyes, you simply experience it with poor vision.
Palming is one relxation technique that is highly recommended by most visual enhancement practitioners. Despite being an incredibly simple technique, palming is easily one of the most effective exercises for improving visual acuity over time. There are those who see results immediately, but in most cases it is the more long-term benefits that make palming so effective.
Here are some step-by-step instructions:
With your arms raised in front of you, face your hands toward your face. Close your eyes and bring your hands over them. Cup your hands so that they do not push on the eyes. The idea is to block out the light as much as possible, so it would help for you to either turn off the lights in the room completely before you do the exercise, or at least dim the lights. Now you simply spend as long as you need to generate relaxing and positive thoughts. As you practise this more and more you’ll notice the improvement in your vision as your eyes learn to relax throughout the entire day, even when you are not doing the exercise.
